Reviews
My wife and I stayed at the Abbey and we loved it.
We really enjoyed staying at this monastery - the oldest Benedictine monastery in Poland. We had an opportunity to join in the Liturgy of the Hours (prayers) with the benedictine monks which was wonderful.
We really enjoyed the "guided" tour of the Abbey - with Monica - who did a great job (showing us and explaining the history of the place, and even telling us stories of some of the different monks - and some of their work - which besides helping evangelize - some get creative and craft beer, which was delicious).
We had a wonderful room with a view of the Vistula river.
We also had a chance to visit the museum which was nice.
We also took advantage of their store - which had a lot of local crafts (bread, beer, jam - which we purchased and it's been great).
Overall would highly recommend staying here.
(Note: breakfast was buffet style and simple - just to set expectations).
Just perfection. Authentic, calm, cheap and welcoming place. Everything went well but I mostly recommend for solo and couples travellers, may not be super convenient for families.
The welcome desk lady spoke English well, so communication was super smooth. You are given the schedule of the Abbey, in particular the lunch/dinner times (I recommend booking for the lunch, better than the dinner).
The rooms are extremely clean and the bedding is ancient, but this is what I love about it.
Tip: ask for a room on the river side, you will enjoy an amazing view at every sun rise/set.
It's a beautiful location and a spiritual place. I was happy to be there.
It is a Catholic Benedictine Abbey and Community, it corresponds entirely to your expectations of a monastery... (And yes, the mattresses and bedding are absolutely worn out and need urgent renewal).
The ladies in the kitchen, household and reception desk are very friendly and discreet. Many thanks.
Delicious food, very quiet, amazing atmosphere with a beautiful view as well smiling service.
Very nice place ans helpful reception. Simple but high quality evening meal and breakfast. The mattress was not so good. But all in all the rooms and equipment is clean, nice and simple: recommendable.
Nice little hostel, 3 man room was great, clean and good breakfast.|Cheap and close to old town, the bathrooms could be better and even the showers.|They have a wendingmachine wich is great. The stairways smells very bad though
